Welcome to the official web site of the Danish Beekeepers Association (Danmarks Biavlerforening).
Founded in 1866, we recently celebrated our 150th jubilee (more in Danish) and have a membership of 5.500 beekeepers, large and small, organized in 80 local branches around the country.
We are currently revising and restructuring our English material and look forward to uploading new files in the future.
Meanwhile, here is a general outline of Beekeeping in Denmark, including sections on the association’s history and organization; our recommended organic varroa treatment strategy; the special “black bee” on the island of Læsø; and more.
If you have specific questions, feel free to communicate with our secretariat in English (go to the menu “Kontakt”, then select “Kontakt en medarbejder”, e-mail preferred) and we will do our best to help you.
